If you're a teacher or parent and want a constructive way to discuss the war in Ukraine and the need for peace, please look upon our website, MakeBeliefsComix.com, as providing a useful resource for young people to create their stories about what is going on in Ukraine and Russia.  We have a wide array of more than 100 characters, including the People of Peace figures shown here, which can be used in your graphic stories to discuss the war. You can create comix about the brave people of Ukraine, the protestors against the war in Russia, the soldiers who are fighting,  and also discuss that you would like to see the peace-makers do about this terrible war.   Perhaps there is a story about your family's views on the war.

People of Peace: Martin Luther King Jr, Nelson Mandela, Pope Francis, Thich Nhat Hanh, The Dalai Lama, Mahatma Gandhi, Malala Yousafzai, Jimmy Carter

Could You, Would You Be Able to Do This to Stop an Enemy?

War brings out both the best in people -- and the worst.  We see acts of courage, such as a person standing alone trying to stop an armored enemy tank, and then, of course, we see in the media pictures of great brutality, like the bombing of a maternity ward or a family destroyed by a bomb. One can only hope and fervently wish that one will never need to fight in war. How does one overcome one's fears to do acts of great courage?  There is much to be learned from that person standing firm against the tank's advance.
